Abbas Ahmadi Motlagh

Partner/Director/Producer Abbas has over 40 years of experience working in film and television production and is an established writer, director, editor, and actor. His work spans the globe and has been released in theaters, screened at international film festivals and aired on IRIB, IRAN INT, BBC, and HBO.

Hossein Mahallati

Partner/Executive Producer Hossein was born in Shiraz, Iran and is now a businessman in New York City. He’s a founder, a director and a board member of several companies in various capacities. He has been collaborating with Abbas as a producer on many projects since the early ‘90s including Aftab – the only weekly 2-hour Persian TV program airing in the USA and with a Nielsen rating.

 

A Call from The Hostage Takers / UK / 2019 / 58 Min. Directed by YKnot Production. Forty years ago, the Iranian hostage crisis gripped the world with details unfolding nightly on television. But one story remains untold, until now. Desperate to get their message out, the hostage takers invited 50 ordinary Americans to visit Iran. Bad Friend / Iran / 2007 / 110 Min. Written and directed by Yknot Production. A feature-length, box-office hit comedy about two friends who scheme to rob a bank where they work on their last day on the job: Sahra Film.

Requiem for New York / USA / 2020 / 26 Min. Written, directed and edited by Yknot Production, this short film depicts a New Yorker’s surreal drive through they typically bustling city during the pandemic. It juxtaposes COVID’s impact, as well as a brief history of the city’s disasters, with masked faces of ordinary people.

Across the River (Ansuye-e-Rudkhaneh) / Iran / 2009 / 85 Min. Writen and directed by YKnot Production. A feature length film about two soldiers, one Iraqi and the other Iranian, who find themselves as the only survivors of a battle, the events of which they can’t remember.

Directed and Edited by Yknot Production, Peace Corps Heritage: A Cross Cultural Journey of Peace Corps Volunteers in Iran is mini-series documenting the Peace Corps experience.
