It was founded in 2018 by esteemed film and television director Abbas Ahmadi Motlagh who is celebrated at film festivals worldwide, and Hossein Mahallati, a distinguished philanthropist and entrepreneur. The founders have brought a treasured collection of award-winning titles distributed worldwide under one roof. Yknot Production also offers film and photo archiving, translation, film/video/photo production, and editing services.

Abbas has over 40 years of experience working in film and television production and is an established writer, director, editor, and actor. His work spans the globe and has been released in theaters, screened at international film festivals and aired on IRIB, IRAN INT, BBC, and HBO.

Hossein was born in Shiraz, Iran and is now a businessman in New York City. He’s a founder, a director and a board member of several companies in various capacities. He has been collaborating with Abbas as a producer on many projects since the early ‘90s including Aftab – the only weekly 2-hour Persian TV program airing in the USA and with a Nielsen rating.
